Why do guys think myspace is a place to date?

My fiance doesn't like me to be on myspace, because he thinks it's a place to date other people. I don't feel it's that way. I speak to old friends and my family that are on myspace. I'm wondering if he is this way b/c his exwife use to cheat on him with people she found online. I've told him over and over that i'm not like her, but he just doesn't like the idea of me being on myspace. And it doesn't help that the guy he works with brags about how many girls he sleeps with on the weekends that he has met from myspace. I even offered to make us a myspace together, and he doesn't want anything to do with a computer. I'm really suprised that he lets me even have one at all.

Good timing for your question. Check this out from CNN:

More than half of U.S. teenagers use social networking sites like MySpace, but girls go online to reaffirm existing friendships, while boys are more often there to flirt, a survey published on Sunday has found.

The national survey of youth aged 12 to 17 by the Pew Internet %26amp; American Life Project shows two-thirds of teens who have created social networking profiles limit site access to selected viewers, while 17 percent use their sites to flirt.

well, myspace can be a place to date, find a relationship, or just chat and find friends! my current boyfriend used to get on myspace all of the time and actually got a few of the girls that he talked to to come over and sleep with him...needless to say he donesn't do that anymore! but i'd say that i would just chill off of myspace for a while until he really trusts you...besides, just e-mail your family and friends with regular e-mail, not myspace if it makes him more comfortible...is this really worth putting him through all of this worrying and possibily putting your relationship in jeaporidy?
