I recently got home from 2 off an on years in Iraq. I guess I haven't really been around to be the best father but yesterday I was going through our computer and I saw some videos of my daughter and her teenage friends ages 15-17 dancing around in their underwear and I also found a bunch of Pictures of them in our bathroom wearing hardly anything! I mean she is lucky she wasn't naked or else I would be in Jail right now for Killing her! But When I confronted her she said thats just what girls are doing these days!!! Is this true? I mean I spent a little while searching through myspace.com and I noticed alot of half dressed girls...what the heck is going on? Does anyone else think this is a problem? Why all of a sudden did it become cool for teen girls to put pics of themselves in thongs all over the net?

Man thats crazy! It doesn't surprise me though...I mean I have a myspace and all my teen cousins have half dressed pics of themselves...you should see what they looked Like at our halloween party...I thought that I was a victoria secret fashion show. I don't have a daughter of my own so I can't really make a good judgment on this one but all I can say is you should sit her down and teach her about respecting herself and how to really gain respect from guys. good luck

There is a very fine line these days between morality and exhibitionism....it's almost non existant to a lot of teenagers, it's sad but they seem to be growing up a touch quicker these days.

Watch TV for a while and you will understand. It is sexy for young girls to parade half naked or so they think. I mean aren't most of the young famous people doing it??

well, if your DAD, then put a stop to it. Its not just "things girls do". Its things mom will let her get away with while youre not there to enforce the rules. Your teenage daughter are making themselves vulnerable to net predators. Log onto your computer and change the settings so they can only post pics in the "shared" folder. Or, tell them in order to keep their myspace (commonly referred to as MyWhoreSpace) you insist they set their profiles to private. As for the videos, those are normal. Dont let them tell u that posting half nekked pics is ok, because its DANGEROUS, even if theyre too young to realize that. Good luck

Well I myself would never just take pics like that and put them on the net...My ****** ex boyfriend took some pics of me and put them on the net but it wasn't my choice. I guess all you can do it lock her up until she is 18...hahaha JK. I don't know talk to her.

Umm, I would have to say it's time to have a talk with your daughter. Though I never did those sorts of things when I was her age, I can not say if it's normal in this day and age as I have no children. But it is definitely not safe. Do you really want other people seeing these pictures? Do you really want your daughter to desire this sort of attention?

Try spending more time with her, explain why you don't want her to do this sort of thing and I would even consider talking to the parents of the other girls. BTW, what does her mother say about this?

yeah, she's right in saying that its just what girls are doing these days, but not all of us of course. It's an "in" thing for some maybe because of the influence of TV and mags. Makes it seem normal.

What a great sacrifice you have made to protect freedom and fight terrorism! Thank you! Now you are home, and you are Dad, and even if it really is what girls are doing these days, it doesn't mean your girl has to do it! Spend time with her doing fun things, take her to the movies with her friends, take her to putt putt, have a family movie nite. Cultivate a relationship with her, and invite her friends along as well. While you are with them, they can't get into too much trouble. Your daughter might pout at first, but just put your foot down. So you'll be unpopular for a night or two, she won't stop loving you and eventually she'll enjoy the time together with you. AND you'll have opportunities to show her and tell her how a real man acts and behaves, with respect towards women. This is your wake up call!!!!!!!! My stepdaughter gave us one, and while she was w/her Mom things got out of control and now she's married w/a baby and not even 18yrs old and hasn't finished high school yet. I keep wondering had she been living with us, would we have been able to change the course of events??????

Welcome to the real world. Yes this kind of thing is normal and it is not new. I am nearly 70 and this was around when I was a teen. The difference is that in those days the computer and camcorder was not invented yet.

Don't make a big deal of it. and even if they were nude it still does not say much. the real problem comes when the adults condem the young for learning about themselves. There is nothing wrong with the nude body. It is when adults create this terrible mystery that the problems show up.
